Video Descriptor Taxonomy Endpoint
The Video Descriptor Taxonomy endpoint is an integral part of the Video Descriptors feature, and powers advanced discovery use cases.
This endpoint provides access to the video descriptor taxonomy, which is a structured hierarchical relationship (parent/child tree) between descriptors. Using this endpoint, you can get the full list of Video Descriptors, grouped by Type (Idand Name) that the video Descriptor belongs to.
.In addition to the Video Descriptor Idand Text, this endpoint provides the following information:
- Immediate parent of a Video Descriptor, from which you can build the hierarchical taxonomy
- Synonyms of the descriptor (when available)
Video descriptors are grouped into a specified number of types required to completely and accurately describe the video program for advanced discovery use cases. The full list of types is provided here Video Descriptors Types. When additional descriptors and types are released or updated, they will be accessible from the same endpoint.
Note: A given Video Descriptor will only belong to a single Type and have a single parent.
Programs will only be annotated with Video Descriptors that belong to the Video Descriptor Taxonomy.
